About Tidal Dreams
Tidal Dreams emerged at the tail end of 2010 in Athens with the ambition of crafting old-school heavy metal with epic scope and melodic depth. In the summer of 2011 they entered Sigma Sound Studio, laying down tracks for their first full-length self-composed and self-produced album Once Upon A Tide. That year they earned the opportunity to open for the legendary band Heir Apparent at the famed Kyttaro Live Stage in Athens — a significant early live milestone.
By October 2012, “Once Upon A Tide” was finalized at Soundflakes Studios and released. The album fused classic heavy-metal and epic power themes with speed and progressive elements, and its lyrics touched on legends, mythology, religion and modern social conditions. It marked the band’s first serious statement and set the foundation for their evolving style.
In 2015, Tidal Dreams released the single “Fight For Thee”, accompanied by an epic music video. The track reaffirmed their commitment to strong anthems and provided fresh content between albums.
April 2016 proved to be a pivotal moment: the band won first place in the Greek round of the Wacken Metal Battle, earning them the right to represent Greece at the international finals held at the Wacken Open Air festival in August 2016 alongside 27 bands from around the globe. This experience elevated their live-performance confidence and international visibility.
Riding the momentum, Tidal Dreams entered the studio and in September 2017 released their second album “Previsor” via Italian label Underground Symphony Records. On this album the band explored folk elements and traditional instruments layered into their heavy-metal framework, showing clear artistic growth and increased production ambition.
In January 2020 they self-released their third album “Access Denied”, a 10-track work spanning heavy metal, power metal, melodic and speed metal — a bold self-determined move. With fewer folk textures than its predecessor and a heavier, more modern sound, Access Denied represented a mature, direct iteration of their identity. The band stated that this album allowed them to check their strengths and weaknesses without external strings attached.
Most recently, the band released a new single, “We’ve Risen Again” further affirming their continued creative output and forward momentum.
